  • Mark J. Seamon, Ph.D.

    Program Director

    Education: B.A., Communication and Theatre, University of Notre Dame; M.A., Theatre, Miami University (Ohio); Ph.D., Theatre History, Literature, and Criticism, The Ohio State University

    A native of Grand Rapids, MI, and proud alumnus of Notre Dame, where he graduated summa cum laude and as a Valedictorian candidate, Mark directs all OER program activities. He especially enjoys using his theatre background to assist in the production of NDignite Connection broadcasts and working with students to enhance their performance and communication skills. Prior to joining OER, he served as the director of merit scholarship enrollment for the Enrollment Division at Notre Dame. Mark is a concurrent faculty member in the First Year of Studies, where he teaches the Moreau First Year Experience seminar. Mark and his wife, Lauren, have two beautiful children and a loving Bernese Mountain Dog, Snowbird.

  • Jessica Lacay

    Assistant Director

    Education: B.A., Youth Ministry and Adolescent Studies, Bethel College; M.S., Organizational Leadership, Trine University

    Jessie oversees the Notre Dame Virtual Community for 9th- and 10th-grade students. She also assists in development of the communication stream for OER. Jessie has always enjoyed working in higher education, helping students reach their goals and live out their passions. Jessie has a goldendoodle, Macy, whom she absolutely adores. Macy has appeared in previous NDignite Connection broadcasts.

  • Jennifer Pittman

    Assistant Director

    Education: B.S., Public Affairs, Indiana University; M.B.A., Indiana Wesleyan University

    Jennifer oversees the Online Learning Center for 7th- and 8th-grade students. She also leads the optional summer programming. Prior to assuming this role, she served as an advisor for the Notre Dame Talent Search program and as a family liaison in the South Bend Community School Corporation. As a South Bend native, Jennifer has a passion for providing access to resources for students and families in the local community. Jennifer is a mother of three amazing daughters, loves music, classic movies and television, board games, good food, and any chance to laugh.

Student Team

A diverse and energetic team of Notre Dame students serve as virtual mentors. They provide feedback on assignments, guide discussion groups in our online platforms, and work both on- and off-camera to bring NDignite Connection broadcasts to life. In sharing their perspectives on college life and their experiences as students at Notre Dame, our students are essential to the success of the NDignite Connection program!
